Bayonne Legion Soldiers

"List of Soldiers of the Bayonne Legion Who Fell on the Western Front."

The following list of names, which is incomplete, was extracted from the book Armja Polska we Francji, written by Jozef Sierocinski, Warsaw 1929. These men were Polish members of the French Legions who fought in France starting in 1915. In 1918 with the arrival of the Polish Army in France recruited in North America, these troops were merged into what later was referred to as Haller's Army.

The Bayonne Legion, composed of Polish troops fighting in the early days of WWI,  was a part of the Legion d'Etrangere of France.  The legionnaires were known as Bajonczykow in Polish.
